Boerner Botanical Garden

There was a family garden walk at Boerner Botanical garden today. A had so much fun last year that we decided that Mommy, A and J would go together this year. The flowers are beautiful and they have lots of activities set up for kids just our age.

After walking around and seeing the gorgeous flowers we went and did some fun activities. We made a rattle shaker thing with a recycled plastic bottle, bird seed and some colorful yarn. Then we decorated a nature notebook with stamps, markers and feathers. After that we made a flower crown and a pinwheel.

Then we went for a hike on this big wooden bridge. There were times Mommy could barely keep up with us. Is that any surprise?

The best part of the garden is this area where they have these stone walls. There's a little creek that crosses right through the path and a beautiful waterfall. If there was no one else around it would be a very peaceful place to sit and relax.
When we were almost ready to leave we stopped at a place where we got a potatoe and a directions on how to grow it into our own potatoe plant.

Happy 4th of July!

As is tradition, we went to Lake Lenwood. This year was the most fun we have ever had. J was a little fish and spent forever in the water. A was happiest playing in the sand. We also spent a long time playing in the park area. It was a great time.

After the lake, we took a nap on our way home. We even slept for a while at home because Mommy said if we took a nap we could go see fireworks. This may be the first time we ever had the chance to see the fireworks. We went to Hart park. Mommy and Daddy said it was the closest to the fireworks they have ever been. Daddy said that he really wasn't looking forward to going but the look on our faces when we saw the first fireworks made it all worth it. This was a really great day!
