Swimming is sooo much fun

We went to Michigan for the weekend and the girls had a ton of fun swimming.


J spent most of the time climbing out of the pool and jumping off the side. Her sister, K, also taught her how to do somersaults underwater. She loved doing that but in true J tradition, she just couldn't keep her mouth closed and she came up with a mouth full of water every time.


A was content just floating in her ring. Every now and then she would get out but not very often.

Meet the Teacher Day

The girls got all fancied up to meet their teachers. A wanted to pose for pictures and I don't know why but J didn't.


They both had fun meeting their teachers. We had to prep A so she knew what to do and what to say but she did very well. J was prepped a bit too but she walked right in and started talking with the teacher and got reacquainted with some classmates from last year.

The littlest Chefs

Sunday mornings in our house includes a special breakfast.  Sometimes Daddy makes his special pancakes and other times Mommy makes french toast.  Today the girls helped make the french toast.  They helped to stir in the cinnamon.

Bug bites

J spent the night at Aunt Judy and Uncle Harry's.  We had been expecting them to drop her off but they really weren't up for it.  We got a call about 10:30 to come pick her up.  Apparently, there were about 8 kids that spent the night.  Most didn't go to sleep until about 3:00 AM.  They had stayed up watching another movie.  We have no idea how late J stayed up but we all paid for it that day.

After staying up too late and having too much fun, J looked like she had a shiner.  She must have gotten bit by a bug right under her eye.  It was very swollen.  Daddy was almost afraid to leave the house with her for fear that someone would think he hit her.

Since J was getting her picture taken all day, A had to get in on the action.  As you can see, neither one had much done with their hair today.

S'mores, Movies, Candy and Sugar Overload

Normally every year we go to a Brewers game to honor Granna Purvis.  This year it was decided to have a family get together instead.  We went to Aunt J and Uncle H house and listened to the Brewers on the radio.  This would be exactly as Granna Purvis would have wanted it. 

After it got dark it was time for S'Mores.  They were a big hit! 

After the s'mores it was time for a Movie.  A big screen was set up on the front lawn and the kids laid out blankets.  While it was getting set up, a few of the kids were having fun watching their shadows in the screen.

The kids were anxious for the movie to get started.

What's a movie without candy?

After the sugar hit, it was topped off with popcorn from a movie theater popcorn machine.

At the end of the first movie, A came up to me and asked to go home.  It was already 10:30 and way past their bedtime.  She actually started crying because she really wanted to home.  We had a hard time trying to round up J because another movie was being set up.  J didn't want to go home.  Then J was told she could spend the night.  She was given the chance to spend the night too.  A started crying really hard.  I could tell that she was very torn.  She really wanted to go home but she didn't want to leave without J.

Another visit with Grandpa B

On their way back from Shawano, Grandpa B, Grandma D and Uncle T stopped for a visit.  We went out to eat at the Cracker Barrel.  Before it was time to say goodbye the girls spent some last minute time with them.

 

J's Sunflower

J planted a sunflower seed shortly before school let out.  She planted it in Grandma's yard.  It grew and grew and grew until it was a tall as the house.
